Heels among leaders for Lewis

Despite verbal commitments from three offensive linemen, the Tar Heel coaching staff is hot on the trail of several other standout "hog mollies." Cornelius Lewis of Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines HS is one such lineman that UNC is high on. And the feeling is mutual.

Lewis lists UNC and Florida State as his two favorites.

"It's a good program with good coaches," the 6-3, 310-pound lineman said of UNC. "It seems like I have a good chance of coming in and probably playing my second year."

One such "good coach," according to Lewis, is Carolina assistant James Webster. Webster recently made two in-home visits to speak with the lineman and his family.

"Both went well," remarked Lewis. "(Webster talked about) the school and the education I can get while I'm going there and mostly about how my position coach is."

Lewis is still learning about UNC as his official visit on January 16th will be his first to Chapel Hill. In addition, Lewis will make a trip to Tallahassee for his official visit with his other co-leader, FSU on January 9th. His official visit tour will then round out with stops to Tennessee and Mississippi on January 23rd and January 30th, respectively.

At the conclusion of his final visit, Lewis said he plans to make a decision
