Goddard to visit Chapel Hill

Trimaine Goddard, the outstanding athlete from Roanoke (N.C.) High School, will make his second official visit -- this time traveling to Chapel Hill. Trimaine has made one previous trip to Virginia and will visit Tennessee and Florida State to round out his official trips.

Goddard has stated in the past that Virginia and North Carolina were his leaders but now he has decided to try to give every school an equal opportunity.

"I just want to go into each official visit with an open mind," he said. "Look at what each school has to offer as far as education. I am also looking forward to seeing what the players are like and how well they get along with each other."

Goddard starred for the North Carolina team in the recent North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl.

"That was really a fun experience for me. I met a lot of other guys and became pretty good friends with some of them. I liked hanging out with Jamaal Edwards, Jamar Bryant, and Dannell Ellerbe. The other guys were pretty friendly. I pretty much liked the entire team."

There were some committed players on the North Carolina squad. Was there any recruiting going on?

"No, not really. Everyone was pretty much focused on the game and having fun," he said.

Goddard has his North Carolina visit coming up followed by his visits to Tennessee and Florida State.

"I plan to take all my visits before making a commitment. I want to make sure I make the right college choice."
