Davis has UNC in final five

Tristan Davis has been evaluated as an "athlete" by college coaches due to his versatility. He is capable of projecting as a cornerback, running back, safety or wide receiver on the college level. Davis has thought for some time that he wanted to try his hand at running back or safety. However, a sterling performance in a recent all-star game has him rethinking his future position.

"I played cornerback in the Georgia All-Star game and I won the MVP award," said Davis. "Now, I'm thinking that cornerback maybe my spot. I played pretty well at corner and I would rather deliver the hits than take them."

Davis has set official visits to North Carolina on January 9th and Auburn on January 23rd. Previously, he took an official visit to Virginia during the month of November. His final two visits will go to Arkansas and Mississippi State but he is unsure which will be set for the 16th and 30th of the month. All five programs are under consideration and Davis offered the following thoughts on each prospective choice:

Arkansas- "Arkansas is a very good program and I really like Coach (Houston) Nutt. They are losing some defensive backs and that could be a good situation for me."

Auburn- "Something happened with Auburn that made them think I wasn't interested in them but I called Coach (Terry) Price and they are back on the bandwagon now."

Mississippi State- "Everybody knows about Coach (Sylvester) Croom and how the program could be on the turnaround. Everybody starts even with a coaching change and that's a good opportunity for a player."

North Carolina- "I am the top running back prospect on their board but I'm going to tell them I want to play defense the next time we talk."

Virginia- "I like Virginia because of all the attention they have given me from the start."

Davis plans to reach his decision after taking all of his visits. There is even the possibility that it could take even longer.

"I may not know until Signing Day," said Davis.
