Fraser, who is deciding between St. John's, Villanova, North Carolina and Louisville, is taking an official visit to Jay Wright and the Wildcats this weekend and will head to Louisville the following weekend immediately after taking his SAT on Nov. 3.
Fraser was as shocked as everyone else to learn that Brad Buckman snubbed the Tar Heels and stayed home in Austin, Texas.
"I think I can relate to that more than almost anyone else," said Fraser, who has always dreamed of playing in Madison Square Garden. "It just goes to show you what it means to be at home."
While the two leaders at this moment appear to be St. John's and Villanova, Fraser said he will keep an open mind on his visit to Louisville. He also said that his mother hasn't stopped touting Matt Doherty & Co.
"I'm still considering them (North Carolina)," he added. "I can't not consider them because of my mother alone – even if I wanted to. She mentions them every day, at least three times a day."
While his mother is pro-Carolina, his high school coach, Jack Agostino, has been touting St. John's. Further complicating things and adding to the pressure Fraser is getting from those close to him, his uncle advocates Louisville.
