Green commits to UNC on visit

Pulaski Academy (AR) safety Stephen Green made a commitment over the weekend to North Carolina, thanks in part to his host.

"I committed yesterday," says the hard hitter. "It's a great place out there, and I could really see myself doing well."

Green says he was hosted by linebacker Fred Sparkman on the weekend.

"My host was an excellent guy, really great and showed me a lot about the school. I got to know the players, and the coaching staff. Everybody was great, and everything was cool."

Green admits he was not the only commitment stating that Antwain Carey, Willie Phelps, and Brooks Foster also committed. The most important introduction for him was a new defensive coordinator.

"They brought one in, the guy from South Carolina."

While Green wants to stay committed, he would like to take more visits after this weekend.

"I might take a couple more to see what's going on with those school. Like Nebraska, because they have a new coach, and maybe Kansas State."
