Thatch back from UNC visit

A tired Martel Thatch returned from his visit to Chapel Hill and the Greensboro Dudley safety is satisfied that he had made the right decision.

"I had a great time hanging out with my host Kareen Taylor and Isiah Thomas," Thatch said. "The players were fun to be around. I think my teammates Jamaal (Edwards) and Demario (pressley) really enjoyed themselves, too." Martel had the opportunity to meet the new Tar Heel Defensive Coordinator.

"He talked about his plans to run the defense," he said. "I liked talking to him, he was a real personable guy. He is not sure if he will coach linebackers or defensive backs. It depends who the next hire is." Martel also saw four new commitments for the Tar Heels.

"Stephen Green, Antwain Carey, Derrick Phelps, and Brooks Foster all committed."

And as for his standout teammates at Dudley that accompanied him on the visit?

"My teammates did not commit," he said. "I think they will want to take their remaining visits but I know they really enjoyed the weekend."
