Williams will travel to Maryland

The latest on the midcourt collision that felled Jawad Williams Sunday night against Georgia Tech is that it left him with a broken nose and a post-traumatic headache. But late Tuesday afternoon a UNC spokesperson said Williams will make the trip to College Park tonight for Wednesday's game, though he is still listed as "very doubful."

Indications Monday showed that Williams did not suffer a concussion after tests on Tuesday. He is still listed at questionable.

"I'm not a doctor," UNC coach Roy Williams said prior to the University's official release. "I don't read the X-rays, but I got a note that said, 'We think his nose has a small crack.' It is going to examined later, but you know a lot of guys play with a broken nose.

The 6-9 junior did not practice on Monday in order to undergo further tests into the evening to determine if he suffered another concussion. Williams sustained a concussion in the Tar Heels' win against North Carolina-Wilmington on Dec. 28.

Williams collided with Georgia Tech's Jarrett Jack near midcourt early in the second half Sunday night. He did not return and finished the game with 5 points in only 13 minutes.

Williams is averaging 15.3 points and 7.2 rebounds this season.
