Lewis Down to FSU and UNC

The recruiting war for Florida offensive lineman Cornelius Lewis is coming to a conclusion. Following his official visit to Chapel Hill this past weekend, he has narrowed his list of favorites down to two and also plans to announce his destination relatively soon.

"It's down to Florida State and North Carolina," stated Lewis. "I'm probably going to make my decision sometime this week. I'm weighing both of the schools right now."

Lewis still has scheduled visits to Auburn (1/23) and Mississippi (1/30), but is considering canceling these visits. The 6-3 310-pounder made a visit to FSU the weekend of January 9th, in addition to his visit to UNC this past weekend, which happens to be his first stay in Chapel Hill.

"It was a nice campus," exclaimed Lewis in regards to UNC. "It was the first time I was at North Carolina and I thought it was a beautiful campus."

Lewis wasn't only impressed with how appealing the campus is visually; he also feels comfortable with the coaching staff and likes what he is hearing from them.

"I like the coaching staff," remarked Lewis, "the offensive line coach is easy to get along with. He was going over how he runs the offensive line. The coaches said if I was to come to North Carolina that I would probably start off at second string next year, and then probably become a starter the next year."

Lewis plans to make a decision by mid-week and make an announcement prior to the end of the week.
