'It was a really good visit'

Tyler Hansbrough's visit was supposed to end at noon on Sunday. Instead, he finally boarded a plane for Memphis 24 hours later.

Hansbrough ended up taking a flight into Memphis, where his father made the 2 ½-hour drive to pick him up and take him back to Poplar Bluff (Mo.).

"It was a really good visit," the reticent 6-9 forward said.

Hansbrough, who said the highlight of his visit was getting a chance to meet Dean Smith, said that much of extra time spent in Chapel Hill due to the bad weather was spent with Roy Williams.

"He really liked the staff a lot, and Coach Williams in particular," said Gene Hansbrough, Tyler's father. "He's just fortunate to be choosing from all these schools."

While it appears as though Gene Hansbrough would like his son to also visit Duke and Kentucky, that doesn't look like it'll happen.

"They're about equal right now," Tyler said of UNC and Florida. "They're both great schools. They have great players and great schools. It'll be a hard decision."

He'll visit Missouri on Feb. 12 and, in all likelihood, will choose from Florida, UNC and Missouri shortly after finishing his trip with Quin Snyder.

"I probably won't take any more visits," Tyler added. "I'd like to get it done after I get back from the Missouri visit."
