One school out, another in for Ellerbe?

Richmond County linebacker Dannell Ellerbe has returned from a weekend trip to the University of Tennessee. How did it go for the Shrine Bowl MVP winner?

"It went good. I'd give it a 9. It was the same as all the others. I'm still all even," Ellerbe said.

But apparently N.C. State, whom he was scheduled to visit this weekend, is no longer even -- in fact, they are no longer being considered.

"I don't like North Carolina State anymore. They ran out of scholarships, from what I heard before my Tennessee visit. I'll probably visit North Carolina this weekend instead."

There has been some question about whether Ellerbe projects as a linebacker or safety at the next level. What have the schools been telling him?

"Everybody says they want me at linebacker. Tennessee likes me at Will. Georgia likes me at Sam, and Clemson doesn't really have Will or Sam linebackers. It's more of like a rover."

Ellerbe and Georgia commitment Jamar Bryant had been saying for a while that they are a package deal, but that appears to still be up in the air.

"I don't know. Jamar has been telling me to come to Georgia, but I haven't decided."

What's the most important factor for Ellerbe?

"It's academics. I want to major in computer science, and all the schools have that."
