Balmer: 'Nothing will stand in our way'

Kentwan Balmer, a defensive lineman who was prized by the UNC staff after a stellar camp performance, signed a letter of intent today to play at UNC.

"I sent everything in and talked with Coach Bunting, Coach Browning, and Coach Lawing, and they seemed very happy and excited," Balmer said.

Balmer was upbeat about the future of the UNC football program and has his sights set on the highest goal in the sport: a national championship.

"All of the guys on the visit seemed cool, we all gelled tight and are working towards the same goal -- a national championship. If we give it all we have as a group, as a unit, nothing will be able to stand in our way," Balmer said emphatically.

The signing of his letter of intent hasn't removed Balmer's focus from high school entirely, though he is greatly looking forward to heading to Chapel Hill.

"I'm just trying to focus, do all I can do for my current teammates and my future teammates and keep myself working hard. I'm looking forward to going to college, I guess everyone goes through that, but I'm going to work hard now to make that even better."
