"Very disappointed in the outcome tonight, but I told my team I was not disappointed in them. I thought they really came ready to play and battled hard throughout the ballgame. I thought they played extremely tough under a little bit of an offensive onslaught by North Carolina, particularly in the second half."
On Rashad McCants:
"McCants was the difference; I don't think there is any secret about that. He got started on a long rebound versus a zone and a trapping defense. He just felt it. Maybe the biggest shot he had all night, and he hit some big ones in the second half, was the shot right at the half that put them up by eight. Every time we made a run with the momentum, there was McCants to break that momentum with a big shot."
The difference in the game:
"McCants is an outstanding player who had an outstanding ballgame. He was the difference, no denying that. May was strong inside. He gave them an inside game. Our turnovers in the second half gave them some easy baskets and a bigger margin."
On Clemson's turnovers:
"The turnovers keep us from having offensive control in a game like this. You've got to give UNC credit because they're getting in the offensive lanes. To win games like this, you've got to do a better job of taking care of the basketball down the stretch and getting the ball in the hands of Sharrod Ford; at least against the triple team, so you can play off of that. If you turn it over at the top, you just can't defend it."
On your focus going into the ACC Tournament:
"We'll get a day off and hope Sharrod Ford is OK, and I think he is. Then we'll get out and do a little bit of recruiting, figure out who we're going to play down the stretch, rest them up a little bit, keep ourselves sharp and get ready for the tournament."
