The U.S. Navy announced that it would not approve a proposed Veterans Day doubleheader next November that would have matched North Carolina and Air Force, along with Michigan State and Navy.
A statement released by the Department of the Navy read: "Based on aircraft carrier schedules and possible operational contingencies, it would not be appropriate to dedicate an aircraft carrier venue for this event.''
