Cangelosi, Gedin to transfer

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Red-shirt freshmen Nick Cangelosi and Kory Gedin have decided to transfer from North Carolina, the school announced today.

Red-shirt freshman quarterback Nick Cangelosi and red-shirt freshman linebacker Kory Gedin have decided to transfer at the end of the semester and will not participate in spring practice.

"I have decided to transfer at the end of the semester so I can be closer to my twin brother and my family," said Cangelosi. "This has absolutely nothing to do with the coaching staff, the University or the team. Coach [John] Bunting has been awesome in the way he has treated me. I enjoyed my time at North Carolina and I appreciate everything Coach Bunting has done for me."

"I'm really disappointed to lose him, but sometimes kids want to get closer to home," Bunting said of Cangelosi. "I think we've all been through that. I know I've been through that. We are certainly going to miss him. I wish him the very best."

Wide receiver Danny Rumley transferred at the end of the fall semester. Rumley played two seasons at North Carolina and caught seven passes for 86 yards and one touchdown.

Linebacker Devllen Bullard, who will graduate at the end of the spring semmester, has decided not to use his remaining football eligibility.
