Harris has Heels on his mind

Chapel Hill played host to one of the most sought after blue chip prospects for the class of 2005 during the Tar Heels' Junior Day a few weeks back. Wyatt Hicks, a 2004 North Carolina signee, escorted a former teammate, Highland Springs (Va.) running back/defensive back Victor Harris, to the event in hopes that Harris would decide to join him as a Tar Heel.

"It went pretty good," remarked 6-1, 190-pounder. "We watched a basketball game, I was introduced to all the coaches, and I was showed around the place. The coaches seem pretty cool, but when they showed me the stadium I couldn't really feel what it is like when the whole stadium is full."

The Heels are among Harris' 13 offers, which is an amazing amount to boast this early in the process. Harris claims all 13 are equal, but is strongly considering UNC.

"I like the coaching staff, they seem down to earth," stated Harris. "North Carolina is definitely on my mind."

Most coaching staff don't know where to play the true athlete, but Harris was able to speak one-on-one with UNC running backs coach Andre Powell to discover his destination if he decides to become a Tar Heel.

"Coach Powell told me he is looking at me as running back," Harris said. "It doesn't matter to me where I play, though."

During his junior campaign, Harris amassed 2,210 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns on offense, while intercepting eight passes and posting around 40 tackles on defense.
