Brown picks up offers from UNC, PSU

Recruiting is picking up for Wilson (N.C.) Beddingfield defensive end Everette Brown as two more schools offered the versatile athlete.

"I just received two new ones," says the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder. "The University of North Carolina and Penn State just offered me. I went up to North Carolina to watch practice last Thursday, I talked to the head coach and they offered me face to face. Then Penn State sent theirs through the mail yesterday."

As a result, his personal leaderboard has crumbled.

"Right now, they're all in a jumble. I got those two offers, and they just threw me all off."

Brown's summer plans are yet to be determined, as he has not decided on which team camps he will attend.

"The only ones I have are the Nike Camp and the Adidas Camp on May 22nd."

Bio: As a junior, Brown had 110 tackles and eight sacks on defense along with twenty-four catches for 400 yards on offense.

Coach's Comments: "Everete is able to play on either side of the ball," says head coach Tom Nelson. "We played him as a defensive end his first two years, and at inside linebacker in our 4-4 because teams would run away from him."

Scouting Report: Brown is great in pursuit at the high school level, and that could really become an asset at the next level. Great hands on interceptions and offense leave the option very much available to play tight end. Extraordinarily athletic for a man his size, and tons of potential.
