Neal receives offer from UNC

Ashley High School (Wilmington, NC) WR/DB Levin Neal is expected to be one of the top prospects out of North Carolina in the class of 2005 -- and college recruiters are already well aware of him. To date, Levin has picked up two early offers, from North Carolina and Wake Forest.

"Levin's about 6-0, 180," said Ashley head coach Dylan Dimock. "Levin was more productive [than fellow Ashley teammate and D-I prospect Geron James] this past year. He's real quick. He's got great feet and is a great tackler. He's great in the open field."

"He's been offered by Carolina, Wake, and it looks [like] Maryland will," Dimock said. "Levin went to UNC's Junior Day and was offered there. Wake called yesterday and offered."

Along with the Deacs, Terps, and Tar Heels, Neal has gotten letters from and has interest in Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Florida, N.C. State, and others. At this point, Florida is Neal's favorite school.

According to Coach Dimock, Levin had around 47 catches for 781 and 10 touchdowns as a junior. Levin also had three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.

Coach Dimock expects Levin to be a defensive back at the college level as he has very good quickness and good hips.

Levin, who Coach Dimock describes as a "good kid," is also a great student with a 3.4 GPA and well over 1000 on his SATs.
