After the most memorable season in program history (upsetting No. 2 Iowa State in the NCAAs), Hampton returns nine letterman -- but the three graduates will be sorely missed.

Tarvis Williams, Marseilles Brown and LaSean Howard were the stars of last year's Pirates squad. This season, head coach Steve Merfield is expecting last year's reserves to be this year's big contributors.

Tommy Adams (#10) is the top returning scorer. The 6-3 senior guard averaged 10.5 points last season and fired a team-high 197 three-point attempts, hitting 34 percent.

Patrolling the post is 6-8, 230-pound bruiser Cleveland Davis (#5). He posted 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds a year ago. Isaac Jefferson (#4), a 6-5 wing, joins the starting lineup after his role last season as a valuable reserve, averaging 5.3 points and 6.7 rebounds.

"Certainly they had a storybook ending to their season last year," UNC Head Coach Matt Doherty said of the Pirates. "They've lost a lot [from that team], yet they're a team that will come in here expecting to win. It's going to be a challenging game for us, especially our young guys. It's going to be interesting to see how we react."
