Rashad McCants was the only Tar Heel recruit to fax over his commitment to Matt Doherty today, but Raymond Felton and Sean May's letters of intent are expected to reach Chapel Hill by the end of the week.
"It was a rush," McCants said Wednesday afternoon after signing the binding document. "It was like what they say before you die. You see your life flashing in front of you. … It was the proudest moment of my life."
Raymond Felton may have been the first to give Doherty a verbal pledge, but he'll be the final one to send his paperwork to the staff.
Felton, who is firmly committed to North Carolina, had already scheduled to put his name on the dotted line Friday at 3:30 p.m.
"I just set that date," said Felton, who will perform the festivities at Latta High (S.C.). "It was just the best time for me to do it. That's when my mom can be there."
The class' lone big man, Bloomington North High (Ind.) power forward Sean May, was scheduled to sign the letter of intent today, but had to postpone until tomorrow because his father was held up in a meeting.
"We had it all set up for today at 1 p.m., but my dad was late at a meeting and I didn't want to sign without him there," May said. "We'll do it the same time tomorrow."
