Heels looking at Boyette as DB

Chapel Hill played host to countless prospects at the Tar Heels' 2004 Spring Game. Wilson (N.C.) Fike athlete Requan Boyette was one such player in attendance.

"It was great," stated Boyette. "I saw a lot of things that I liked with the UNC football team. I had a great time. They had an academic presentation, I learned a lot from that. Then we met with our position coaches and I went to the running back part this time and I liked what Coach [Andre] Powell had to say."

Besides gathering a better understanding of the schemes and atmosphere at North Carolina, Boyette also got a better idea of what position the Tar Heels might want to place the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder who owns a 4.45-second forty-yard dash time.

"Coach Browning said that I have the measurables to become a DB," remarked Boyette. "He said he wanted to get more tapes on me and watch me play DB a little more before they offer."

Boyette, who also is being recruited to play running back, stated that the position offered would not be a factor, he just wants to be on the field.
