Heels get second 2005 commitment

North Carolina received its second verbal commitment for the 2005 recruiting class on Monday in the form of Greensboro Dudley fullback Kennedy Tinsley.

Inside Carolina learned of the news early Monday evening, but was asked to withhold the information until after camp, which begins this week.

In the meantime, The Winston-Salem Journal released the story on Tuesday.

Kennedy Tinsley, 6-foot, 210 pounds, was Dudley's starting fullback last season. He rushed for about 500 yards, averaging seven yards a carry. He added about 350 yards receiving. He has 4.6-second speed in the 40.

He led the blocking for tailback Jamaal Edwards, who rushed for 1,994 yards and scored 22 touchdowns as a senior. Edwards signed with Florida State.
