Nyaoga to enroll in August

Thomas Nyaoga, the big offensive lineman from Mansfield Summit High School in Texas, says he is ready to get his college career started.

"Man, I can't wait to get going," he told Inside Carolina on Tuesday. "I have been lifting weights some to try and prepare myself for college football."

Nyaoga had plenty of suitors vying for his services with about 15 offers from powerhouse teams such as Florida, Colorado, Kansas State, and Nebraska. Nyaoga climbed as high as 46th on The Insiders' Texas Hot 100.

But Nyaoga chose the Tar Heels.

"When I went there on my official visit I was just amazed how beautiful the campus was and the friendliness of the people," Nyaoga said. "I had always liked the Tar Heels basketball team growing up."

UNC offensive line coach was also Nyaoga's primary recruiter.

"Coach [Hal] Hunter calls me at least once per week to keep in touch," he said. "I should be in Chapel Hill in August. I'm fully qualified and ready to go. Coach Hunter says everything is looking A-OK as far as admissions."
