Virgil will return to UNC camp

Rocky Mount (N.C.) defensive back Stephan Virgil must not have gotten enough of Chapel Hill. After camping there in early June while earning his first scholarship offer, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder plans to camp there once again on July 17th. This time, though, it will be more for discussion than making an impression.

"They said they wanted to have more time to talk to me about stuff and coming there," remarked Virgil, whose other offer comes from Wake Forest after another stellar camp performance. "They just want me to come back again and talk and I'm going to perform, also."

Stephan Virgil currently includes the Tar Heels among his five favorite schools, which also includes N.C. State, South Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest. He really respects the UNC coaching staff and feels he can learn a lot from them, especially secondary coach Marvin Sanders.

"The coaches, Coach [Marvin] Sanders especially, I like them," stated Virgil. "I like the way [Coach Sanders] teaches the corners how to play and the techniques he teaches. I just had a lot of fun working with him when I went to the keep."

During his junior season, Virgil compiled 81 tackles and four interceptions on defense. From his running back position, he posted 558 yards on 52 carries plus eleven catches for 358 yards for a total of 16 touchdowns.
