Boyette To Attend UNC Camp

Wilson Fike running back Re'quan Boyette told Inside Carolina Sunday that he plans to attend the Tar Heels camp on July 16.

"They (Tar Heels) were always my team since I was little," Re'quan Boyette said. "I really like the staff at North Carolina and I feel they can get things turned around this year with the new coaches" Boyette has received his share of interest as he has garnered scholarship offers from N.C. State, Wake Forest, Duke, and East Carolina.

"I had planned to commit before the summer is over but I think I will wait until after the season starts and decide sometime during the year.

"Coach [Kenny] Browning. He has been by the school a couple of times to see me."

Boyette said he is looking forward to what the UNC coaching staff has to say to him during his camp visit. He will follow with a trip to Greenville and the ECU camp.

Fike is looking to go further into the state playoffs this year with almost all its starters returning. Hopes are to build on a 10-4 record losing in the second round to state runner-up N.E. Guilford.

"We've been working hard all summer. I think the team is right mentally to do what it takes to win the championship," Boyette said.
