McKinley to miss UNC camp

The Tar Heels' will kick-off their second one-day camp this Saturday short one camper. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Austell (Ga.) South Cobb athlete Kenny McKinley will have to postpone his trip to Chapel Hill this weekend and settle on visiting later on this summer.

"I was going to go to UNC camp [this weekend]," said Kenny McKinley, who has visited Chapel Hill before. "My grandmother passed away so I'm going to her funeral. I am going to try to visit before the summer is over with."

With the bad news comes the good news as North Carolina currently stands as McKinley's favorite among his offering schools.

"I like the Tar Heels a lot," he said. "Out of my offers right now they are my top schools."

McKinley, who owns offers from Duke, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Tulane, Illinois, Southern Miss. East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky and Army, does own a solid top five that includes two schools that have yet to tender him.

"Right now it's UNC, Duke, Georgia, Louisville, and I like Auburn," remarked McKinley. "I like Georgia because I live in Georgia and I would like playing for the home state. UNC and Duke they are showing me a lot of good love. And Auburn and Louisville are also showing me some love. I like Georgia has a good team. I like UNC because I like the coaches and the players. I went up there during spring break and met everybody on an unofficial visit. I liked the campus."

From his quarterback position, McKinley threw for nearly 1,600 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also rushing for 433 yards and seven touchdowns. On the college level, the All-County selection will be more fit to play either wide receiver or defensive back. It is believed the Tar Heels' coaching staff like McKinley at either safety or corner back.
