Wesley impressed with UNC visit

North Carolina offered Atlanta defensive end Quinton Wesley the last time he was in town a couple of months ago. He was back in Chapel Hill on Saturday and returned home continued to be impressed with the Tar Heels.

"It was an unofficial visit," Quinton Wesley said. "A couple of friends of mine from school were going, so I went also.

"I was impressed overall by the campus and the coaches. I liked everything."

Wesley said what stood out most to him during his unofficial visit was the intensity he witnessed from UNC coach John Bunting.

"That means a lot to me," Wesley said. "I like that in a coach."

Wesley finished last season with 40 solo tackles (30 assisted) seven sacks, six tackles for loss, two caused fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also doubles on offense as a tight end and offensive tackle.

He currently holds offers from UNC, Tulane, Mississippi State, UT-Chattanooga and Akron; but Wesley emphasized that he has no favorite at this point.

"I'm looking for a school that fits me," Wesley said. "I'm going to try to wait [my decision] out until the end of the season, because I'm more concerned about where we stand."
