Virgil back from Blue Chip Day

Rocky Mount (N.C.) defensive back Stephan Virgil traveled to Chapel Hill Saturday for the Tar Heels' Blue Chip Day. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder said he enjoyed his visit and got a better idea of the academic side of North Carolina.

"It went real good," exclaimed Virgil. "I learned how they do their academics there, and how they help you out and how the coaches check on you. They have people that are right behind you wanting to help you and stuff."

As previously reported, Virgil, who claims offers from both UNC and Wake Forest, still claims the Tar Heels as his leader. However, he would like to see how things play out during both his season and UNC's season, before finalizing anything.

"I don't really know when I will commit," stated Virgil. "I want to sleep some more on it. It's probably going to be a while [before I decide]. It's really all on me when I decide if I want to commit or not, or visit some more schools or not. I want to see how the season is going to start off and how Coach Sanders does with the DBs this year."

In addition to Chapel Hill, Virgil has visited Wake Forest, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Virginia. At this point his only future plans are to fit in a visit to South Carolina before his senior season kicks off.
