Inside Carolina – How was your visit to Chapel Hill?
Mo Avery – It was a great visit.
IC – Tell me about your visit.
Avery – Well, I got there on Saturday morning. I met the coaches and then we walked around campus. Then we went to the players walk from the well to the stadium before the SMU game. I watched the game. That night, I spent time with Brandon Russell and Kory Bailey. Brandon was my primary host. The next day, we spent a lot of time looking into academics. That evening, we went to the basketball game.
IC – How did you like the campus?
Avery – The campus was great.
IC – How about the players?
Avery – The players were straight.
IC – Who is your primary recruiter?
Avery – Coach Brewer is my primary recruiter.
IC – Did you spend any time with Coach Tranquill?
Avery – Yes I spent some time as well with him.
IC – What do you plan to major in?
Avery – I plan to major in education.
IC – Did you have a favorite school growing up?
Avery – North Carolina has always been my favorite school.
IC – Was this your first trip to Chapel Hill?
Avery – This was my first trip.
IC – Anything surprise you?
Avery – Yeah, the gym looked smaller than it does on TV.
IC – What did Coach Bunting say to you?
Avery – Just that he could really use me and he talked some about the program.
IC –Was it fun being on the field when they announced the Peach Bowl bid?
Avery – Yes, it was fun being out there with the players.
IC – When we talked to Marcus McNeil he said that you and he spent some time together.
Avery – Yes, we pretty much hung out together the whole time.
IC – Did you know each other before this weekend?
Avery – Yes, we knew each other from before.
IC – Did Coach Bunting offer you a scholarship after the game?
Avery – He had already offered me before my visit.
IC – Do you know when you might decide?
Avery – Probably late January or maybe on signing day.
