Sexton's change of heart

After a positive camping experience that was followed by an equally productive unofficial visit this past weekend, Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland dual-threat quarterback Cameron Sexton has a very positive view of his childhood favorite North Carolina.

"Things have changed somewhat," admitted Sexton. "With me being up there more and being around them more I feel a lot better about [North Carolina]. I've changed my opinion enough to move them in my top five."

With the exception of the recent addition of the Tar Heels, Sexton's ACC dominated favorites list has seen little change since the beginning of the summer camping season. However, another ACC school is peeking its head into the mix.

"My top five is Clemson, FSU, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, and [North] Carolina," stated Sexton. "Miami is slightly outside of there after talking with Coach [Dan] Werner."

That top five – or six – bares a strong resemblance to another North Carolina prospect's favorites list, the same prospect that has been rumored to be considered a possible package deal with Sexton.

"It's simply me and [Hope Mills (N.C.) South View Jonathan] Hannah becoming friends and wanting to go to the same school," remarked Sexton. "We'll be at games together and maybe some official visits. He's a great player and I wouldn't mind going to school with him, but we will still be making the choice that best fits us."

On the topic of official visits, Sexton figures to sit down with his parents in the next couple of weeks and map out an official visits schedule. He hopes to take the majority of his visits early as there is a good possibility that Sexton graduates in December and enrolls at his future school in January.
