Football Recruiting Update - 12/9/01

Inside Carolina spoke with three top targets on where they are with respect to recruiting.

Tom Clayton

Tom did not make his visit to Maryland this weekend as previously scheduled. The visit has been rescheduled until mid-January. Tom says that he does not plan to decide until at least after the Maryland visit. Next up for Tom is a trip to Tallahassee next weekend. Tom is making preparations to run in-door track. Tom stated that UNC and FSU were still the leaders for his services.

Brandon Jefferies

Brandon's team (Shelby Crest) won it's quarterfinal game (3-A) this past Friday night. They advance to the semi-finals next weekend. Brandon has not had time to focus on recruiting with the playoffs in progress. He has not scheduled his official visits as of yet. The following teams have had representatives make in-home visits to Brandon's home; UGA, UNC, TN, and NCST. It is Inside Carolina's opinion that these schools will all receive official visits. Additionally, the 5th visit will probably also come from a local team (SCAR, Clem, VaT, or Wake).

Rashaad Tindall

Rashaad Tindall was very excited that his team has made it to the North Carolina HS Championship game (4-A). He is very much looking forward to playing his first game in Kenan Stadium. Inside Carolina asked about internet rumors that NCST was pursuing Rashaad heavily now. Rashaad said that NCST and Wake were still writing him letters but he was not getting anymore phone calls and he is solidly committed to UNC.
