Friday to visit UNC

With the college football season kicking into high gear, Hampton (Va.) Phoebus defensive end Steven Friday has decided to soak in a few games to get a better understanding of his four favorites (UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech and Syracuse). A trip to Chapel Hill will be among the 6-foot-4, 215-pounder's visits schedule.

"I'm going to North Carolina this weekend," stated Friday, who claims offers from each of this tendering schools. "I'm also going to Virginia Tech the eleventh for an official visit. The North Carolina one isn't official."

Friday admits he is mostly uninformed concerning the Tar Heel football program, despite considering them among his favorites. He feels most of his questions will be answered after this weekend.

"It seem like North Carolina is rebuilding their team," remarked Friday. "I haven't been there yet, so I won't know too much about them until I really go this weekend."

This Thursday, the standout defensive end and his Phoebus High School open up their 2004 season against Wilson High School. Although a difficult task, the All-Stater hopes to better his junior season stats of 117 tackles, 17 sacks, and 23 tackles for loss.
