Paschal back from Chapel Hill

Mark Paschal visited Chapel Hill over the Labor Day weekend, but the 6-2, 227-pound Charlotte (N.C.) Latin FB/LB did not commit.

"I think I need to make sure of my choice so it may take a little more investigating," Paschal told Inside Carolina on Monday evening. "I may wind up going to a game or two. I'm not sure."

Paschal says a commitment could be on the immediate horizon, though.

"I will probably commit pretty soon though," he said. "I called [UNC assistant coach and Charlotte area recruiter] Coach [Gunter] Brewer to let him know that I am not quite ready to decide."

UNC, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt are the teams still under consideration. Paschal is the son of a former player for the Tar Heels (who went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings). He is projected to play fullback or linebacker in college.

As a junior, Paschal amassed solid statistics for a fullback. He rushed for 1,397 yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging around 9 yards a carry. He also garnered over 100 tackles.
