Virginia Tech's loss happened to be North Carolina's gain this past weekend. Hope Mills (N.C.) South View TE/DE Jonathan Hannah had originally scheduled his second official visit to Virginia Tech on Saturday, but a conflict with ACT testing forced him to reschedule for next week. However, Hannah's plans were altered yet again leaving the 6-foot-4, 254-pounder with an open Saturday.
"I went to the UNC-Louisville game," stated Hannah. "I messed up the registration process for the ACT somewhere, so I decided to go. I really went to the game to help out a teammate of mine [Ellis McDowell] who they're thinking about offering. I also wanted to see my cousin [Jason Brown], Dre' [Kyndraus Guy, former teammate] and Wyatt [Hicks, childhood friend]."
Regardless of his reasoning, Hannah enjoyed his unofficial visit, but was disappointed in the crowd's passion.
"I've been to Carolina's games since my sophomore year so it wasn't anything new," remarked Hannah. "But I've seen the fans more enthusiastic than they were Saturday."
Despite sounding somewhat dissatisfied with the crowd's reaction during the game, Hannah claims it won't hurt the Heels' chances.
"I still like them," Hannah said. "But I'm just trying to chill with recruiting."
On the prep scene, Hannah has caught seven passes for 139 yards on offense and on defense Hannah has recorded eight tackles and a forced fumble.
