Previewing N.C. A&T
The Aggies enter Thursday night's game with a 1-7 record. They opened the season with losses to Elon, Creighton, Nebraska, VCU and Howard, before earning their sole win to date, over Delaware State. The team has since lost to American and then was routed by Duke, 93-51. (2001-2002 Schedule/Results w/Stats)
Head coach Curtis Hunter is a former McDonald's All-American, who then suited up for the Tar Heels from 1982-87 -- thus a former teammate of Matt Doherty. The Aggies are led by Bruce Jenkins, a senior forward from Silver Spring, MD, who led the MEAC in rebounding last year. Jenkins has been able to dominate the boards with his wide frame, while using his soft touch to put up double-figure points. He's the the MEAC's Preseason Player of the Year.
