Allen Suspended From Peach Bowl

Atlanta, GA -- University of North Carolina wide receiver Bosley Allen has been suspended from the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl for violating team rules, head coach John Bunting announced on Thursday. Allen, a 6-3, 190-pound junior from Bradenton, Fla., was to return home Thursday afternoon.

"We have team policies when we are on the road and we were very thorough in explaining team policies," said Bunting. "He violated team rules and is suspended for the game and we're sending him home."

In 2001, Allen was third on the team with 39 catches for 562 yards and four touchdowns. Allen also was Carolina's starting punt returner, averaging 10.3 yards on 32 returns.
