Arnold to Officially Visit UNC

With the Tar Heels trying to land another tailback or two for their class of 2005, the coaching staff has began to push a little harder for a few of the in-state ‘backs.

Mocksville (N.C.) Davie County athlete James "Cooter" Arnold, who is being recruiting at tailback by the UNC coaching staff, is one such back who has seen interest from UNC increase in recent weeks.

"I talk to Coach Sanders a bunch and I talk to Coach Bunting a couple times," stated Arnold. "I got [an official visit] set up in November at UNC. I don't remember the date."

Arnold, who has already unofficially visited Chapel Hill for the Louisville game, is optimistic about the Tar Heels' situation and considers them as one of his co-leaders.

"As for as UNC they have a pretty good program and everything," remarked Arnold. "They are starting to get where they are actually starting to win games and stuff like that. I'm getting more interested in them as the season goes on. Right now, them and Wake are my top choices."

Arnold also figures to officially visit Wake Forest and Clemson before he makes his final decision. The Scout.com three-star prospect originally scheduled an official visit with Auburn, but has canceled that trip and doesn't plan to reschedule.

On the prep scene Arnold dominates on both sides of the ball picking off six passes on defense and rushing for 1,613 yards and 22 touchdowns on 172 carries.
