Yesterday's Chapel Hill News featured a terrific book review by columnist Frank Heath on More Than a Game: Why North Carolina Basketball Means So Much to So Many, the new book by Thad Williamson
My personal "introduction" to this book actually came during the 1999-2000 season, when I began reading Williamson's Internet columns at "uncbasketball.com." Thad was the only writer I could find who was covering UNC's season on the brink of disaster from the calm viewpoint of a supportive, but reasonable, fan ...
When things finally clicked and Carolina reached the Final Four, everything Thad had been saying suddenly made sense. So I looked forward to the publication of his book this fall as an extension of the work he had been doing.
I can say after reading "More Than a Game" that I am thrilled that it was written.
Here at Inside Carolina we've been shamelessly promoting Thad's book since it shipped out in late November. Here is a listing of stories and excerpts at IC over the past month.
