"Right now, probably Stanford, North Carolina, Duke, and Georgia Tech," said the 6-foot-4, 240 pounder who has taken one official visit and previously scheduled two others. "I'm going to Georgia Tech the second week in December."
Okpokowuruk's first visit was two weeks ago when he traveled to see North Carolina for an official visit.
"It was a great visit," he said. "It was the weekend they played Miami, so it was a great game. It shows that the program is on the rise, and then they almost beat Virginia Tech, but lost by three. So it shows that the program is pretty good. I'd probably give it an eight."
With the visit down, and a strong impresstion made, is he able to name a leader just yet? Not quite.
"I really can't say that right now, because I have to take all my visits first before I can make that distinction," he said. "I mean North Carolina is the only one I've been on so far, so I can't make that judgment yet."
One visit down, a newly scheduled trip to Georgia Tech on the docket, and previously scheduled trips to Duke and Stanford (12/3) were all to take place before the Christmas holidays. However, Okpokowuruk will not be able to leave a Christmas present this year with a commitment.
"Actually, the Duke visit got cancelled, because we have our state championship game that Tuesday, so we will probably be practicing that weekend, so I won't be able to go to that," he said. "The only available next time I could take it would be in January, like January the 14th, so I think that is what we set it as. I don't even know (when I will decide). I'm still thinking about it and trying to decide."
