Maryland Preview

This isn't exactly the ideal environment for bouncing back from a tough weekend loss. The Tar Heels make their final visit to Cole Field House tonight to face No. 4 Maryland. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

UNC Lineup Note: Adam Boone will start tonight, as Melvin Scott will come off the bench. "I said (to Melvin), `Hey, I'm not down on you. I think you're going to be a great player here,'" Matt Doherty said. "I've asked Melvin to do something that's very difficult. (He) was a 2-guard in high school, and we're asking him to be the point guard at North Carolina. It's really not fair to him, and I've said that to him."

Injury Update: Maryland senior center Lonny Baxter is expected to play tonight. He suffered a badly sprained right ankle on New Year's Day and returned to practice last weekend.
