Felton suffers hand injury

Tar Heel signee Raymond Felton suffered a hairline fracture to his right hand on Monday night at practice.

"He was going after the ball with a couple of teammates (when the injury happened)," Latta head coach Stephen Smith said. "It's very hard for him that he can't play."

The Latta (S.C.) point guard sat out on Tuesday as the Vikings squeezed by Scotts Branch, 62-60, without their star.

"I have to totally readjust because Raymond is the quarterback on the floor," Smith said.

Felton doesn't plan on letting the injury keep him sidelined for long.

"He's got a splint and is icing it down every night," Smith said. "Once the swelling goes down, he'll get back on the floor. He's looking to play next Tuesday."
