Pasadena CC Star Visits

Marlon Wood, DB/WR from Pasadena City College is taking an official visit to North Carolina this weekend (12/3).

Wood is originally from Florida and is the son of former USC and Tampa Bay player Richard "Batman" Wood. He signed with Alabama State out of high school on a track scholarship but decided he wanted to pursue his first love -- football. He then transferred to Pasadena to provide him the opportunity to grow as a player.

"Marlon is an exceptional player," said head coach Tom Maher. "He has had 30 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and three interceptions on defense.

"I had actually started him out on offense at wide receiver but sonn discovered that we needed help at corner. His stats are only reflective of seven games."

Wood is also exceptional on special teams as a kick returner.

He is a full qualifier and would have three years to play 3 years. He is expected to run track at Pasadena and would be ready to transfer after the spring semester. He stars in the sprint competition and participated in the long jump in high school.
