Walker Enjoys Official Visit

Oakcrest (N.J.) linebacker Dakota Walker took his second official visit, and said he had a great time at North Carolina.

"We went to the basketball game and that was good because the team won, and it was packed. The crowd goes crazy for them, and they show a lot of school spirit," said the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder. "The coaching staff is real cool, down to earth people. It was a fun environment to be around."

Walker said that the visit helped the Tar Heels, and he likes their chances, but there is plenty of time until he makes another decision.

"I like them, but I've still got my options open and see what's going on at the other schools," he said. "I'm looking at USC, V-Tech, and Tennessee. Rutgers is still in the picture."

Walker visited Chapel Hill with neighbor Shea McKeen, who is currently taking a fifth season at The Hun School in Princeton. Good friends for some time, Dakota said the two liked their time in North Carolina.

"We had a good time. He most likely, well, I don't want to speak for him, but he likes it there. That's all I can really say."

Should McKeen end up at North Carolina, Walker is not certain it would have an effect on his decision.

"Not really, obviously he is going to pick the best school where he can fit in and I'm going to do the same," he said. "Whether it is at the same school or not, we just both have to do our own thing. If we end up at the same school, we end up at the same school."
