Hemby Enjoys Chapel Hill

North Carolina became Morganton (N.C.) Freedom cornerback Jordan Hemby's first official visit after the 5-foot-11, 176-pounder postponed his original first official visit with Virginia Tech last week. Being the first official visit can sometimes provide a slight edge, but not for Hemby, who is approaching the recruiting process with a level-headed approach and isn't easily impressed.

Regardless, the blue chipper had nothing but good things to say about his official visit to North Carolina.

"I liked it pretty good," remarked Hemby. "I liked the facilities, the campus, the players and everything.

"The coaches were telling how I'd be an impact on the team, and get a lot of playing time as a freshman."

During his stay, Hemby did some of the same things he did during his unofficial visits to Chapel Hill -- only magnified.

"We ate a lot," explained Hemby. "We got to see the campus more, more than my other visits [to North Carolina]. I got to hear more about academics and see more of the players and see how they are around each other."

Despite enjoying himself, Hemby says everything is still equal among his final four: UNC, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Clemson. However, the Scout.com three-star prospect will take what he has learned during this official visit to help him in his evaluation process.

"Everything is still the same," remarked Hemby. "It will help me when I go to other schools to compare what I saw there to their things and see which ones I like better."

Hemby will head to N.C. State this weekend, then on to Virginia Tech the following weekend. After the holiday break, Hemby will wrap up his official visits with a trip to Clemson on January 17th.
