Woolridge Returns From UNC

DeMaundray Woolridge, the speedy running back from Keller, Texas, returned from his official visit to North Carolina. His high school coach, Kevin Atkinson, said there was no commitment made over the weekend in Chapel Hill.

"Demaundray had a good time in Chapel Hill," Atkinson said. "He did not commit but said he had a good time. He still considers himself open to all the schools recruiting him."

Woolridge is expected to be a full qualifier. In addition to his football skills, he excels on the track posting a 10.55-second 100 meters in 2004. This ranked Woolridge among the top 50 sprinters in America for the 2004 season.

"Demaundray plans to take all his visits before he decides," Atkinson said. "He will probably visit Iowa and Mississippi State before he decides. He currently has scholarship offers from Washington State and North Carolina."

Woolridege had previously committed to Washington State but decided to look at other schools as interest in him has grown.

"He had a good time at North Carolina except it was a little slow due to being at the end of semester and a lot of kids being out of town," Atkinson added.

Woolridge is among several running backs being courted by North Carolina.
