Junior to Watch: Brandon Wallace

Brandon Wallace, a 6-9 junior forward from Aiken (SC) Silver Bluff, is putting up numbers this year that do justice to the versatility he demonstrates on the court: 25 points, 11 boards and five blocks.

"He's a good shooter," Clint Jackson's scouting report reads. "He's 6-foot-9, legit. Very skinny and bouncy. Loves to hang out in three land. Very smooth stroke with range.

"Not much offense otherwise though. He blocks shots well and also is pretty darn fast. He reminded me of Eddie Griffin a little -- because of his height, body type at that age and shot-blocking ability.

"I'd say he's a high major that needs work on completing his offensive game, getting much stronger and being more assertive with scoring sometimes."

Nicknamed Show Biz, Wallace has expressed interest in the Tar Heels, though they've yet to make the interest mutual.

Jackson also wrote an article at iHigh.com yesterday on Wallace.

We first saw Wallace at the Nike Peach Jam over the summer where he lit up the scoreboards with a barrage of three-pointers from all over the court. He also swatted shots on the interior with his long arms, impressive leaping ability and his obvious height advantages. Playing alongside a duo of big frontcourt players, Wallace got to stay on the perimeter where he was most dangerous as an offensive weapon. He drew some great reviews from his summer play and he's now the focus of some solid recruiting efforts from several impressive college programs.
