White Returns From Chapel Hill

With teammate Gary Watts by his side, Garrett White of Miami (Fla.) Norland made the trip north to officially visit the Tar Heels over the weekend.

"It was fine, it was fun," commented the 6-foot-2, 223-pound linebacker. "I talked to the coaches and the head coaches and I went to a basketball game. I also hung out with the players. We stayed in the Carolina Inn. I had a little tour of the campus. It was a great campus.

"This one was better then Pittsburgh, but South Florida and North Carolina were about the same."

Right now, White, who considers South Florida and North Carolina his co-leaders, doesn't own a scholarship offer from the Tar Heels. That could all change on Wednesday when members of the North Carolina coaching staff make the trip to Miami.

"They said they are coming down on Wednesday to talk [about an offer]," explained White. "I'm liking South Florida and UNC, but whatever happens [on Wednesday] I'd have to see where it goes from there."

White will make his last official visit this weekend to Rutgers. Teammate Gary Watts will accompany him yet again, but White states Watts' college choice will have no effect on his own.
