Paschal: 'It's A Great Feeling'

For Mark Paschal of Charlotte (N.C.) Latin there were many positives of becoming a Tar Heel, but come decision time it came down to continuing a legacy and playing for a team he has followed since his days of backyard football.

"Being a fan played a role definitely," remarked Paschal. "Growing up watching the Tar Heels play and seeing the program grow definitely helped my interest. It's just a great feeling right now."

Although Paschal's versatility allows him to fit many positions at the next level, according to Latin head coach Larry McNulty the 6-foot-1, 230-pounder will man one of the outside linebacker spots for the Tar Heels, where he should fit in nicely.

"He's a very strong young man, very explosive," explained McNulty. "For his size he's got excellent speed. It's my understanding they're looking at him as an outside linebacker. Excellent, excellent hands.

"I think once he gets into a college setting where he's basically focusing going to be focusing on one position – for us he had to do just about everything – there's no reason why he can't be competitive at the college level."

As expected Paschal is fully qualified.
