Signing A Big Deal For Reynolds

Towering Tennessee offensive lineman Garrett Reynolds has finally ended the recruiting process, and this morning's signing of a letter of intent with North Carolina was an unexpected relief.

"I had that pressure on me for so long that I almost forgot what it was like not to have it be an issue," said the 6-7, 275-pound Reynolds, following a signing ceremony at Carter High School in Strawberry Plains, Tenn.

"It is huge, and I didn't think it was going to be as big of a deal as it seems now."

Reynolds, who is planning on attending the second workout session this summer and says he is fully qualified, cited a number of reasons for finally settling on the Tar Heels.

"I really liked the atmosphere, the other guys on the offensive line and the coaching staff," Reynolds said. "I could also really see myself there as a student if I ever got hurt or anything."

While Reynolds is excited about the entire process, he also has a twinge of nervousness about being finished with recruiting and being so close to college life.

"I extremely excited, but at the same time I'm nervous about it all," Reynolds said. "I'm mainly just ready to get there and go to school and help the team win, though."
