Super CB Commits to Heels!

A.J.Davis, one the nation's best defensive backs, commits to UNC. The Northern Durham product decided not to have a visit from the NC State coaches and committed to UNC today over Tennessee and the Wolfpack.

Inside Carolina – Mr. Davis, can you confirm that AJ has committed to North Carolina.

Mr. Davis – Yes, AJ called me this morning to let me know about his decision.

IC – Why do you think he decided on North Carolina?

Mr. Davis – Well, he had narrowed things down to TN, NCST, and UNC and I think the family would have been happy with any of those schools. I think the determining factor was Coach Craddock, the UNC track coach. AJ has known Coach Craddock since he was little and having him as the Track coach for the jumping events as well as being the head coach was important.

IC – How does the family feel about it?

Mr. Davis – We're happy. I think he made the right choice although the other two schools would have been good choices as well. My parents are especially happy that he didn't go to TN because they would like to come and support him (in track and football).

IC – Do you think AJ will still entertain coaching visits from other schools?

Mr. Davis – Oh no. I think he is done. Once he has made up his mind then I think that is pretty much it. He was very happy when he called and I think he is relieved to get recruiting over with.

A.J. Davis (6-0, 180, 4.28) is one of the nation's finest cover corners who blankets opposing wide outs with an in your face style of play. Loves to play bump and run and has the speed to make up ground if he's beat off the line of scrimmage, which rarely happens. Also one of the nation's top track athletes and holds the state record in the long jump with a leap of 24-10.
