2006: Tim Brown

HAMLET, N.C. – If Richmond County linebacker Tim Brown can get his academics in order during his remaining three semesters, he will likely be a top Division I prospect for 2006.

"He's got to do some work on his schoolwork; we're working on that right now," said Raiders coach Ed Emory.

Brown, 6-foot-2, 192 pounds with 4.5-speed, recently visited UNC.

Like teammate Tavares Brown, he is also estranged from his family and lives with another player's parents.

After recording 95 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and one fumble recovery; Brown was named all-conference as a junior.

"He's got exceptional speed," Emory said. "He really can close on the ball on the run or the pass."

Emory said Brown reminds him of former Richmond County LB/DE Dannell Ellerbe, who is now at Georgia.

"He's very good on pass defense. He's excellent on the run, too."
